Government[/u]
Chaska [chahsh-kah]
A position of monarchy; this person resides over all tribes, though they can be overruled if the Kitori can produce 75% votes against the action. In most cases, the Chaska is merely a figurehead, and the Kitori make most of the decisions with the Chaska merely making observations and guiding it in the proper direction.
The Chaska is chosen from blood, experience, and deeds. Most commonly is a Chaska chosen from the reunion of a Veska and a Kitari.
Veska [veh-skuh]
The Veska is the leader of a particular tribe. They attend meetings that are called, and they have a position similar to the Chaska within their tribe. However, they have a bit more influence, and tend to make more decisions. When the Chaska calls a meeting of the tribes, the Veska stands with the same rank as a Kitori, though they tend to have more influence.
The Veska is chosen through his or her deeds; these feats must encompass compassion, strength, intelligence, and courage. When those are met, the Chaska rises to acknowledge the new leader. Though the words seem easy enough, actually accomplishing these deeds are another matter altogether. There are very few Veska.
Kitori [kee-tohr-eye]
There are two Kitori per tribe, and they are chosen at birth and trained to be open-minded and accepting. Forced to travel to other tribes and lands, the Kitori are knowledgeable and well-respected. They have a seat within the Horst, and their influence is great; however, the Veska still commands more respect.
Horst [horst]
Chosen by the tribal peasantry, the Horst consists of five representatives, excluding the Kitori and the Veska. They help make decisions within the tribe and to come to a reasonable conclusion. They have equal standings with the Kitori and the Veska at the meetings, though their influence is less significant.
Other Castes[/b]
Xorastyn [zor-ass-tyn]
The Xorastyn are casters, and they are generally revered within the tribe for their abilities to conjure, heal, protect, or even for destruction. They are rare, and there are many arranged marriages in the hopes that more Xorastyn are born.
Vestian [vehst-ee-ahn]
The Vestian are combatants. Their expertise lays in scouting, raiding, hunting, and weaponry. They are often respected for their contributions: protection, food gathering, and war-time efforts. Often, they are the boundary patrols for their homes. There aren't as many Vestian around, particularly because of peace-time.
Vorask [vohr-ahsk]
Citizens of the tribe, they partake in every day jobs. They command no respect beyond their own accomplishments, and they are the most populous of the castes. However, without them, the tribes could not function properly.

A Note on Titles[/b]
Vildaek join names with their caste. Their surnames come beforehand, and after their forename is ex - title and their tribe. In the case of Arethiel, she is the third Chaska of her nameright and she belongs to Makai.
- Maelstryn Arethiel ex Chaska III Makai
- Stohrn Zark ex Xorastyn Veryx
In the case of marriage, the last names are chosen upon by the couple, and they choose which tribe they are going to. However, the Chaska, Veska, and Kitori are not allowed to merge into other tribes, and if they marry outside of their own tribe, they may keep the marriage, but must remain separate unless the other partner can perform a relocation.
